We Care Food Ministry

Matt 25:35

For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in..

Approved in Jan 2009 by Pastor Warren E. Amlet, we became partners with the Foodbank of Southeastern VA in Mar 2009 and began distributing groceries on Nov. 18 2009. The Partnership allows us to purchase goods at a very reduced rate. Some of the food is provided by the federal government and is available to us for free. All clients must qualify for the program by filling out USDA qualifying forms.

Our mission is to be Christ’s instrument of love to hungry strangers proving that he really cares and will provide for those He loves. Our goal is to provide spiritual and physical food once a week to a least 100 families in our community. We strive to be consistent, courteous and maintain confidential integrity toward our clients.

The ministry supports widows, seniors, men and women who have lost their jobs, children and single parents. It is a blessing to report that we have served 98 families in Nov, 88 in Dec, 87 in Jan and 89 in Feb. This means that nearly 250 people who would have gone hungry did not because we cared.

Thank you to our team of volunteers who find it not a chore to come out and help those in need. Rev.
